Support/Tech + Assistant Developer

  • General systems administrator skills: Linux/Debian - Windows/Server (2008/2012/2016/2019).

  • Mid-level networking experience. Managed Networks, Subnetting, Vlan, Routing, VPN, BGP, LLDP.

  • Fully understanding standard office networking: DHCP, BIND/DNS Servers, OpenVPN, firewall management (commercial firewalls and Linux iptables), router and switch management, network troubleshooting -- physical and logical connectivity.

  • Fully self sufficient for all tier 1 support tickets: extension adds/moves/changes, dialplan troubleshooting.  Call detail research -- locating issues in call routing.  Determining if an issue is a configuration problem, or internal system bug, or lack of feature.

  • Ability to demonstrate basic understanding of SIP protocol and ability to perform basic call setup troubleshooting and issue resolution (Incomplete calls, one way audio calls, firewall/nat issues).

  • Ability to demonstrate setting up a phone system from scratch, using a provided system questionnaire.

  • Ability to demonstrate communication with a customer, gathering details for behavioral aspects of the system setup.

Developer Skills

  • Git.

  • C, C++

  • Perl, Bash, Python.


  • Javascript, Sencha/ExtJS Framework.

  • PostgreSQL.


  • Experience with Docker, RancherOS, Kubernetes.

  • Experience with Puppet, Bolt.

  • Experience with VmWare.

  • Knowledge with Asterisk, Kamailio, Homer.

  • Knowledge with Prometheus.

  • Experience with Unit Test development and/or Software QA/Testing.

  • Knowledge of provision/configure process for Polycom, Yealink IP phones for either local office use or for hosted/internet use.

  • Understanding of basic phone settings XML management, digit maps, distinctive ring, extended feature provisioning.

  • Ability to demonstrate readiness to pass the DCAP Exam for Asterisk.

  • Ability to demonstrate progress towards being able to pass Cisco CCNA Exam.


 Hours: Full Time Position: 9am to 5pm, 40 Hours a week, paid lunch break

Overtime available dependent on skillset for after-hours/weekend work
